Over the space of twenty years, 3 very different men reveal the story of a young boy’s violent death From the summer of 1969 when 15 year old Tommy struggles to bear the shame of a small minded town, to a violent confrontation in a prison and a drag queen’s return to his childhood town, the forgotten history of the long-dead ‘queer kid’ is finally revealed.
Full Frontal Diva unfolds as a series of dangerous reflections on love, cruelty and revenge, filled with wry commentary and pointed observations about growing up in a small town. The play exposes a tragic world of sexual secrets and desire as Donnie’s childhood friends tell what they know about themselves, each other – and ultimately the story of Donnie Gallagher.
The cast includes Grant Orviss, Paul Oliver, and award-winning performer Paul L Martin who is best known as his alter-ego Trinity Million, seen in his critically acclaimed cabaret show Trinity’s and at Madame Jo-Jo’s. Director Simon James Green has previously worked as Associate Director for the West End smash Art. Designer Keith Lodwick joins the team from his success on The Laramie Project along with composer John Trent Wallace, whose work includes the musical All for One.
