About The Play

About The Play

Set over three centuries in the same London house, this trilogy of plays moves from the brutality of working class Victorian life to the heyday of the sixties and finally to student life in the present day. When a violent event takes place, the centuries and the lives of those inhabiting the room become forever bound together.

Play One

1865: Florie is a poor Londoner, embroiled in a cat and mouse relationship with a member of the Royal Society. When she begins a business arrangement with the young surgeon, Florie proves just how far she’ll go for a little education.

Play Two

1965: The hippies are staging a Vietnam protest outside of the window. Inside the house, two young archaeologists are unravelling a century-old mystery, whilst slowing picking at each other’s secret lives.

Play Three

Present Day: Two friends are relaxing in their student digs. What appears at first to be the closeness of two best friends, turns out to belie a bed of jealousy and obsession.
