A Finborough Theatre commission, and another in its series premiering the work of Canada’s most acclaimed playwrights, the UK debut of Canadian playwright Matthew Edison.
As their marriage reaches its lowest ebb, in the midst of an old argument, Cara’s husband is killed in a car accident. The Reverend Mortimer Wright is sleepless and alone in his hospital room, trying to reconcile his relationship with God with his fear of death. Leo is camped out in his office, cigar in hand, bitterly musing on the state of the world from his corporate vantage point. In the night sky above, a helicopter carries the organ that will connect them all.
Part mystery, part examination of the human soul, The Domino Heart is the haunting story of three strangers linked by one heart. A powerful exploration of the questions we ask ourselves when faced with our own mortality, and the choices we make which determine who we are.
