About The Play

About The Play

See Bob Run is a journey into the world of a teenage runaway who calls herself Bob (“Nobody ever called me Roberta, ever”) as she hitchhikes across the country. Bob presents her life as a warped fairy-tale, but it seems that she is fleeing from a very real act of violence. Is she travelling toward true sanctuary or merely a delusional safe haven? All profits from this production will go to the charity Crisis which fights homelessness and empowers homeless people to fulfil their potential and transform their lives.

Written by one of Canada’s most successful playwrights – and hugely popular in North America – See Bob Run now receives its long-overdue UK premiere at the Finborough Theatre, well known for its championing of Canadian drama. It is the second of MacIvor’s one person plays to be presented there, following the critically acclaimed House in 2006 – “This is a tour de force.” Lyn Gardner, The Guardian. “Daniel MacIvor’s curious, bracing, unsettling monologue” Fiona Mountford, Evening Standard
