Live Canon’s unique style is a fabulous way to hear, see and experience poetry. Every Live Canon production features the world premiere of newly commissioned acapella musical settings of poetry – this production will include three new works by emerging composers.

Live Canon are an ensemble performing British poetry on stage and premiering new acapella settings of canonical poems; they have recently had great success with a programme of work at Greenwich Theatre in Autumn 2008. This is their debut residency at the Finborough Theatre.

Director Helen Eastman returns to the Finborough Theatre after the success of Fair, which toured the UK and transferred to Trafalgar Studios, The Monument and The Gabriels. Recent directing includes Dido and Aeneas (English Touring Opera), Hansel and Gretel (Cork Opera House), The Sweet Science of Bruising (National Theatre Studio), Cloudcuckooland (UK tour), Wild Raspberries (Glasgow Citizens Theatre), Bug Off (OTC), Cure at Troy (Delphi International Festival and Tour) and the world premiere of Julian Joseph’s jazz opera Bridgetower. She is Producer of the Onassis Programme at Oxford University, Guest Fellow in Theatre at Westminster University and a member of the Associate Literary Panel at Soho Theatre. She is currently rehearsing the Circus Space’s Christmas show.
